The finals of the Men’s and Ladies Championships took place on Saturday 22nd March 2025, with the Men’s pairs, Novice Cup and Umbrella finals on the Sunday.

There were some very close battles throughout the weekend, none more so than the Ladies Singles Championships. After gaining a commanding lead, Tina Rowe just couldn’t quite make it over the finish line. Debbie Coyles kept on battling back, getting the odd point here and there, and eventually came out the winner. Congratulations to Debbie on another successful Championships.

In the Men’s Singles Championships it was also a tightly contested event, but the winner in the end was justifiably Andrew Moore, getting the better of it on the day. Commiserations go to Barry Crugten, who achieved so much in getting through to this final.
On Sunday there were the finals for the Men’s Pairs and the Novice Cup, along with the Ladies Umbrella Final.

In the Men’s Pairs Final it threw together the winners of the Tuesday League versus the winners of the Friday League. Andrew Moore and Marc Baker were the overall winners of this best of the best event, beating Mike Takel and Ian Ramsay.

In the Novice Cup, after a long season with many games played, the final pitted the winner of the afternoon sessions with the winner of the evening sessions. This placed Ian Brooks up against newcomer to the club, Trevor Lobb. Trevor came out the eventual winner, showing what a great talent he will be to the club in future years.

In the Umbrella final, Jean Pitts and Debs Kettley were the winning skip and lead, beating Georgie Nown and Debbie Coyles. This ever popular event keeps on delivering, with many contestants taking part all season.
A big thank you to all the organisers of the various events, without which this enjoyable weekend would not have been possible!
