Andrew Moore recently gave great credit to his club and family in the National U18s Bowls Championship Finals in Nottingham.
Peter Hayes, Publicity Officer for Dawlish Indoor Bowls Club comments: “16 year old Andrew, one of the top 16 U18s bowlers in the country, was competing against other young, talented bowlers”.
“Under the watchful eye of Head Coach, Rick Purnell, Andrew spent valuable time with Marc Baker, currently Dawlish men’s single champion, honing his skills”.
“The quarter finals were a round robin affair, the winner from each group going through to the semi-final knock out stage. Brave Andrew got within one point of reaching the semi-finals. On the day, he was proudly supported by his parents Nick (no mean bowler himself) and Jane as well as older brother Chris, a keen bowler, who had already earned his spurs in Devon competitions; quite a bowls family! This will be an invaluable learning experience for Andrew. He will be able to reflect on his achievements over the course of the season, thus building a solid foundation to have another go next year”!
