For the first time ever, Dawlish Indoor Bowls are hosting Open Singles Competitions, with significant prize money on offer to the winners.

Competitions such as these are organised through Riviera Bowls with a high proportion of the entry fees going to the winners, some to Dawlish Indoor Bowls and a small admin fee to Riviera Bowls for organising it.

Although initially the club had the intention to host just one event this sold out so quickly that a second event was immediately scheduled. Both events will be in the same round robin format, with a maximum of 9 entrants in each event.

Both events take place on Sunday 16th February 2025, the first event starting at 9AM, the second at 2PM. All events are scheduled to finish by 7PM. These events are open to all, so no need to be a member of a bowls club. The entry fee is £25. There are not many spaces remaining so if intending to participate get your name in quickly. Here is the link to enter and find out more about the rules:- Riviera Bowls.

Both events are set up identically, a round robin with 3 groups of 3 playing 7 ends each, 2 sets of 7 per game, with the top two going through as group winners to each final. All players are guaranteed a minimum of 2 games.

The stardard of play is expected to be very high and spectators are in for a treat. Viewing games at Dawlish Indoor Bowling Club is all the better now with seating both at the ends of the rinks, as well as alongside the middle of the rinks. Do come along to watch, refreshments will be available to purchase!
