Members, who chose to use part of their Sunday afternoon to come and watch the Men’s and Ladies singles championship finals, were not disappointed.
Dawn Konetsky defeated Cherry Chapman in the ladies final. Dawn raced away to an early lead and, try as she might, Cherry was not able to close the gap.
The men’s final turned out to be a marvellous exhibition of competitive bowling played to a very high standard. Marc Baker was victorious in a tremendous match. Marc established an early lead, but Dave Chappell, a very worthy finalist fought back bravely, but couldn’t quite make it.
All finalists were a great credit to themselves and the club.
