Dawlish Indoor bowls Club were recently proud to host Devon Vice-Presidents in, what was to be, their final game.
Peter Hayes, Publicity Officer, takes up the story: “Member, Chris Swain (seated right) warmly welcomed the visitors and acknowledged that the club were indeed honoured to be be part of this little bit of bowls nostalgia. It’s always a poignant moment, when something traditional comes to an end. “Mousa Alkordi, (standing left) representing the Vice-Presidents explained that availability of players from the various clubs around Devon had resulted in this difficult decision to call it a day. However, the fond memories of past matches through the years would linger on. It seemed appropriate somehow, that the Vice-Presidents were victorious on all three rinks against us to end on a high”.
