Dawlish and District Indoor Bowls Club (DIBC) are hosting several Open Singles and Open Pairs Competitions this season. All of these competitions are organised by Riviera Bowls.
The first of DIBC’s 3 events is taking place this Sunday, November 30th, starting at 9.30AM. We have several of our own members competing, including Fred and Marc Baker, as well as Deborah Kettley and Lee Wooldridge. There’s also a selection of Devon’s best bowlers in the mix.
Every player is guaranteed a minimum of 2 games, playing 2 sets of 5 ends each in 3 groups of 3. Group winners will advance to next round. The 3 Group winners then play a mini 5 end round robin to determine the overall winner.
Prize money for the winner is £85, the runner-up gets £40 and 3rd Place getting £25. DIBC receives £60 with a £15 Admin fee going to Riviera Bowls.
The stardard of play is expected to be high, so please come along and support the players. Viewing games at Dawlish Indoor Bowling Club is all the better now with seating at the ends of the rinks, as well as adjacent to the entrance. There will again be food and drink available to purchase.
There will also be an Open Pairs competition taking place at DIBC on Sunday 11th January 2026, and another Open Singles competition on Sunday 8th March 2026. Look out for further details of these events nearer the time.
At the end of the Indoor Bowls season there’s an overall finals day, the highest ranking players invited to come and compete to be the overall season winners.
